I appreciate what you’re trying to say…I really do. But I think it’s as realistic as thinking that Silicon Valley is going to solve the climate crisis. It’s just not going to happen. The D Party is entirely captured by the oligarchs, and very clearly has no intention of doing anything you mentioned. If anything, they are already digging in, and ratcheting to the right. Makes sense, because we all know pursuing the 3 “undecided” centrists is far more important that pleasing the millions that want them to lean left. The D’s are not any longer an opposition party, they are complicit center-right diet republicans with a few outlier members that lean slightly left of center.
That's why we need something on the left akin to what the Tea Party did on the right, fueled by grassroots force. I think the biggest mistake that Democratic voters make is going to the polls casting their vote then tuning out until the next election, with the assumption that their elected leaders will just do their jobs. We need to end that assumption and start holding our politicians accountable. If they're going to be corporate shills, let's primary them out of their comfy jobs. Bottom line is, we, the voters, need to do our part to make sure that politicians have no options but to do theirs. Just complaining that people are bought and paid for by oligarchs then turning around and reelecting them doesn't do anything to solve anything.
If it's going to happen or not, I don't know. But you better believe I'll do my part, however small to make it happen. And hopefully you'll be there with me in that fight 💪

I hear you, but I just don’t see it actually happening.
